January 2019

Hey Friends!

As a new year is upon us, I wanted to write and share a few things that are on my heart. I'm going to do my best to write each month and communicate a few of the happenings around Vineyard Worship.

In order to keep the emails pointed and somewhat brief, I'm going to limit myself to sharing "3 Big Things".  So here we go:

A Stirring Among Us
I’ve had a TON of phone calls, emails, text messages and Skype meetings since August, and - as you can imagine - there have been a lot items up for discussion. Nearly every interaction I’ve had with our worship community has been tinged with new hunger and passion for the things of God. There’s a sense that God is stirring our hearts towards awakening. If it’s in our conversation, it’s because it’s in our hearts, and if it’s in our hearts, it’s because God is stirring us once more.

The Ferment Podcast
The response to the The Ferment Podcast has been overwhelming. I figured that a podcast was going to be a pretty good source of encouragement, but I was not prepared for how much it would speak to so many hearts. Obviously, it’s touching our Vineyard community, but it’s already beginning to stretch out beyond our little part of the church and into other parts of the body. I’ve had messages from Anglicans, Southern Baptists, independent charismatics and everyone in between. I’ve taken this as a little word from the Lord that maybe who we are, and the conversations that we have, are not just for us, but perhaps they are for other parts of the church as well...and perhaps this is another way for the Vineyard to give and to receive from the big “C” Church.  Anyhow, I hope you’ve subscribed because we have some really fun interviews coming this year!

New Music
Speaking of this year, Friday, January 4 will be the release date for the first of our new singles! The first single is called “All The Same,” which is a co-write between Terry Butler and his nephew Byron Aram. This song is going to touch hearts. You can expect to see the single drop on Friday, along with a band performance video - which is an alternate version of the tune - video tutorials and a toolkit as well. That will launch our new rhythm for the year. On each first Friday of the month, something NEW will drop. The first three songs are ready, and we’re about to start tracking the next batch. Keep your eyes and ears open!
